Today I’d like to share a secret with you. It’s a secret Azure data treasure map compliments of the Azure Customer Advisory Team (CAT). Sounds awesome right? Well it is!

If you’re unaware, the Customer Advisory Team is a group of incredibly talented people working at Microsoft from all over the world. These talented men and women work with the biggest Azure customers and solve the coolest scale, complexity, deployment, automation and functionality problems.

In doing this over the past few years, they have found some very cool things. And they’ve taken all of that and published it in the Azure Data Architecture Guide from CAT. This is packed with so much information that the Table of Contents is 3-4 pages. Here’s just a short list of what there are guides on:

  • Traditional relational workloads
  • Big Data Architecture
  • Batch Processing
  • Machine Learning at scale
  • Scenario patterns for advanced analytics and data lakes
  • Processing texts
  • Transferring your data to and from Azure
  • How to make pipelining work in Azure when you’re moving data between applications

Again, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Go and search Azure Data Architecture Guide by Azure CAT and I guarantee you’ll find this super useful. Make sure you have this bookmarked, so you can dig in and read it whenever you have downtime. I’ll even give you the link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/architecture/data-guide/

I highly recommend it—it’s truly like having a secret Azure data treasure map. I’m proud to say that our team helped develop a few sections, but the big kudos here goes to the Azure CAT, who have really outdone themselves.
